Blog Layout

Once you decide to completely remodel your kitchen, you probably become a little overwhelmed during the planning process. You know that you are dissatisfied with the current layout of your kitchen. But how do decide on a new arrangement? We’ve put together a very quick guide to help you out.

What to Consider with the Layout of Your Kitchen

Here are a few things you should take some time to think about when planning your kitchen.

  • Counter Space – Remember that you’ll want plenty of room to prepare food. Plan for a microwave that mounts onto the wall, and don’t add in so many gadgets and floor-to-ceiling cabinets that there is little space to work in.
  • Walking Room – Your kitchen can become crowded quickly if you add too much to your kitchen. If you want to have an island, for example, there should be enough room to chop onions while still allowing space for someone to walk behind you. If not, you may want to reconsider this addition.
  • Storage Space – This may seem obvious, but think about how much you plan to store in your kitchen, and plan accordingly. Don’t settle for less if you can afford to add in more, as your kitchen supplies are likely to grow as time goes on.
  • Convenience – Finally, make sure that the room can be used by anyone, young or old, of any height!

Take a look at some pictures online, or flip through a home décor magazine for some inspiration. Find out what’s worked well for others, and always make sure to plan for the future. You want this renovation to stay with you throughout your time in the home, so choose timeless fixtures and a layout that can work well for people of all ages and abilities.

Trust in an Experienced Contractor

By far, the most important part of any remodeling job is which contractor you choose for the job. This company will be there to ensure quality from start to finish, so you want to make sure that they have employees who can take care of each step—plumbing installation, planning, and assembly, for example—and who have plenty of experience and positive feedback from customers. Read reviews online, and don’t be afraid to ask important questions about their qualifications for the job.

At Advanced Builders & Contractors, we’ll take care of all of the hard parts for you, and work with you to plan your dream kitchen. Call us today for remodeling in the Los Angeles, CA area.
